The next regular council meeting could be the first Monday in July, July 3. However, the council might delay the July meeting due to the July 4th holiday. The council is required to post a meeting notice at City Hall at least 72 hours prior to the meeting time.

It's time for Ms.Dennie to resign. She lost her right to represent our city when she moved out of the city limits. She's not a good reflection of our city anyway. The only reason she was elected was because someone said TAX, NO TAX....she just happened to be on the NO TAX side.....Charles Manson would have made it on that ticket....totally unqualified, and a bad attitude to boot. As for Mr. Sexton....I've never in my life been so embarrassed at City Council Meetings.....Mr. Sexton is the dumbest nut I've ever seen.....Calling Citizens outside while he's up there representing Combine...shame on you Dilbert.....Cussing people in public....RAW....you aren't worthy of the office.....do Combine a favor...resign, or better yet....maybe you should stay on.....we all need entertainment from time to time.....sick humor.....go ahead ED...open you pie hole....amuse us again!

Do we want Combine to move foward, or do we want to go backward.??If we used our energy for good instead of individual gain, perhaps the city would prosper. Everyone of the comments on this blog make the City of Combine look BAD! Grow up and start showing our children how to lead. Remember you are setting an example. There will be growing pains, but how we handle them (in word & deed) show not only our children but the rest of the public outside of Combine who we really are and what is really important to us. Work together for a better community for our children. They deserve it.
As long as those peope are in office there is little hope for this community. You state that we need to grow up and show our children how to lead. I teach my children to stand up for what they believe in and not to sit back and let people run over them. You need to be talking to the council members about being examples for our children. Lets see... Betsy is not being truthful about where she lives. She doesn't even live in the city limits but yet she tells everybody that she lives on Edward Sexton's property in a trailer. Hmmmmmm, Edward Sexton tells everyone she lives on his property also, so that makes him not trustworthy.
It makes me sick to my stomach to think of all the false rumors and how they misled citizens to win the election last year and this year. Shall I go on.
Still keeping our chidren in mind... Lets talk about Edward Sexton's mouth. He has cussed and threatened people while he's sitting in that council seat representing our city.... Pathetic... So you do not tell me to grow up.
These council members don't care for our children and what is best for our community. For God Sakes, they are going to approve this new wild animal ordinance and the only reason is because the cat owner is doing favors for the current council and in return she will get to harbor and breed her wild cats.
Do not tell me to work together with these people who have their own agenda but not the city or the citizens best interest at heart.
it's not the comments on this board that make the city look bad....it's the City Council members that were elected, odviously by the majority of our citizens..What we need to do to correct this matter is to pull together as a city and encourage EVERYONE to vote and not wait until its to late or until we are put in a situation that we are in now. This council is a joke....
You can stand up and try to work with these people, but it does not good. They have their agenda, and they have the people that have paid them to do their dirty work. The new council, with the exception of Brandon, are nothing more than pupets for Edward. And he only wants to destory everything the previouse council's have done because he is a bitter old man. And the longer that he and his crew are in contorl of OUR city, they are going to do everything they can to destroy all the good from the past.
It is time this community woke up and relized that the current council doesn't give a flip about what the citizens want, they are only there to help their contibutors and spread lies and smeer the good name of our community and it's citizens.

The new counsil members ran on the idea that they were going to get rid of the tax. I have not heard one motion to get it done. They lied to everyone of you,not so smart people who voted for them. This thing with Mitzi, husband and the cat lady watching the money. We all should watch where the money goes. It might start to filter into pockets of council members (and others...). If this new Mayor has any guts he would put a sock in Ed's mouth, then he would take Mitzi's husband off the finance comittee and send Betsy Dennie packing. That's just getting started. I really don't think he has the backdone, like Bill the deserter. Yes I am for a recall and PS I must apologize I am one of the stupid ones that voted for Edward Sexton. Sorry.

who ordered the burn ban lifted? I thought that fireworks fell under this.

Notification of Kaufman County Burn Ban and Restrictions: A burn ban is effect for Kaufman County. Therefore, a burn ban is in effect for all areas within Combine corporate city limits. This means no open fires, no container fires and no fireworks that go up in the air such as bottlerockets and missiles with fins. If a burn ban is called in Kaufman County, the City of Combine recognizes the burn ban for both the Kaufman and Dallas county sides of the city.

I heard that the people who own the cats are gone BUT I still see animals in their backyard. Should we believe or do you think they are just going to lay low for a while so everything can settle down? The council still may have it in their plans to pass this wild animal ordinance.

the very fact that she lies about living in the city & edward "scissortongue" sexton is contributing is not only no surprise but an outrage to our town, almost as much as the fact the a man who DOESN'T EVEN LIVE IN OUR CITY OR VOTE (stanton) controls their every action. don't believe it?? sit @ the matlock store and listen to there conversations racy, raucous and on the verge of illegal (ever hear of a quorum you buffons). it is a sad day when they run on the campaign of no taxes yet has any of you seen where they have called for a repeal of taxes. there are a great many citizens who are so disgusted with this council that they refuse to shop at our only store in town that produces a sales tax for our town b/c of this council that camps out in there & that keeps them away. Our City is not perfect and perhaps the makeup of our counsel isn't perfect, however, if you are going to stand up and call someone a liar or cast stones at others, at least have the decency to sign your name. Anonymous name calling has no credibility.
Brandon is the only one of the newly elected officials that we voted for but the fact of the matter is, the counsel is in place and we need to do our best to work together. We didn't vote for George Bush in the last election but he is our president and we respect the office.
Living in this great country, we have the choice to attend open meetings so that we know firsthand what is going on at City Hall rather than later hearing a distorted or biased version from some whiner. If we disagree with what we see or hear, we can do our own research and if we determine that we think that they are making a truly bad decision, we have the option of standing up and voicing our opinion, in a sane and informed (rather than accusing) manner. None of us are ALWAYS right and we have been known to show someone in the past why the route that they were taking might not be the best path and conversely, we have been shown by many the error in our thinking as well, and, often, a compromise can be obtained by exploring the issues from both sides.
One of Edward Sexton’s best characteristic traits is that he is not a hypocrite. Edward’s opinions and beliefs are exactly the same at the counsel table as they are at the store or anywhere else in the community. If the statements on this blog are true when they claim that Ed is in favor of amending the wild animal ordinance (and we are ashamed to say that we don’t know with certainty that this is true because we haven’t been at a meeting where this issue has been addressed), then we can say that he and the two of us respectfully disagree but there is nothing wrong with our disagreeing and we are comfortable with picking up the phone or sitting down with him to discuss the issue. It would be wrong for either of us to blast him on this blog without the benefit of first addressing the issue with him personally.
For those of you who want to teach your children how to lead and not be afraid to stand up for their beliefs, we would challenge you to begin in your own home by signing your name to your posts.
We have no agenda. We are not aligned to any side. We are not afraid to say that we love, Jessie Ramsey, Patricia Mathis, Edward Sexton and their families. We personally like most of the previous counsel members as well as the current ones. Different ones are saying that the current counsel should call for this or that, well neighbors, we will honorably (and not anonymously) say that it is time to call for all of the citizens of this community to stop the anger and hate.

The Police Department is doing a great job in the past few weeks!!
Hey, did you know that the chief is on medical leave and that the mayor put a reserve officer in the acting chief position. And this officer is the one that went to Crandall to join in on a Balch Springs car chase that went to kaufman and totalled out a squad car that cost combine citzens tens of thousands of dollars. And also filed a false police report saying it went through Combine. If i am not mistaken this action is a felony offence that the chief swept under the carpet. That's just one reason he does not need a contract and needs to go away. what is the mayor thinking!
are people so narrow minded to think that they would abolish taxes .....its sad people are so caught up in money that would allow them selves to be made fools of
and for those of you who wonder who could do all of these robbieries in this area need to look at ed sexton's grandson
