EMERGENCY SESSIONS

The Combine City Council has called emergency sessions on Oct 9 and Oct 16. Emergency means they were not required to post a notice for the public to be informed of their meeting. The Council convened into Executive Session regarding the police department for both of these meetings.

Does anyone know WHAT they have been discussing??

Awaiting an update on the 10-17 meeting. So, we are paying W/C for the chief? how was he injured on the job. Tax payers want to know. Or, at least I do.

the chief claims he was injured on the job. he says he tripped and fell against the door at the police station. if anyone has any evidence to the contrary i am sure the state agency that controls w/c would love to hear from you. as for the need for executive sessions, if personel matters are discussed in open meetings, the person involved could possibly sue the city over the release of personal information.

Thank you Paul!
Combine citizens appreciate the Council's caution in protecting the City from a law suit by not discussing personnel matters in open meetings particularly when the City just ended a costly law suit with George Tunnell.
Sounds like you guys must have a dilemma. The tax payers hope you are getting the appropriate legal advice. Hopefully you won't need to continue your Executive Sessions indefinitely.
Please know we all look forward to at least hearing some sort of report of your Executive Sessions asap.

Sounds like they really bobbled up by having these meetings...I hear that the interim chief (Mike Henderson ?) is suing them and has hired an attorney who has filed with the atty. general of texas and is prepared to bring action against our council (or city) .....NICE..VERY NICE....we are looking very good !!!!!! bet the old council is getting a kick out of this mess !!!!! bad thing is that Mike seemed like a decent guy who would be an asset to the city !!!! WHAT A SHAME

This website is full of very old blogs- can we get an update on City Council meetings and what the posting on Matlock's clip board about a lawyer's papers served to Paul Norman are about?
Thanks!

The papers at Matlocks are a copy of a letter. It was sent by a lawyer who represents officer Henderson. It was sent to the Texas Attorney General. He wants them to investigate for possible violations of the open meetings law.
I would also like to see some updates. Maybe some updates would cause more people to read and comment.
When this blog first came on line last summer the opimion flew like crazy. They made for great reading. To quote an old Eagles tune, "did we get tired, or did we just get lazy?"

Who updates this blog?
The Fire Dept. Auction is over.
The "know combine" section is gone unless you go back to "what happened" in July.
There might be a better reponse if some of the old blogs were gone & new info was posted to read and respond to.
There is nothing about the last City Council meeting or the T9 meeting that was held tonight. This would have been a great place to mention where and when it was going to take place.

Previous posts were getting no comments, so it was assumed no one was looking at the blog. Postings stay on for a period of time, but eventually disappear along with the comments made under the postings. Let's see what comments get made regarding last night's Loop 9 get together...
