It might be wise for someone to do a real background investigation on Mr. Upton, with particular attention being given to the circumstances as to his abrupt termination from the Mesquite Police Department, and his reputation as a Mesquite Police Officer.
In the opinion of trusted law enforcement officers, you may be buying damaged goods or certainly not what the good citizens of Combine deserve in an Interim or Acting Chief of Police.
he cant be any worse than the last chief....you should see HIS rap sheet...i've seen criminals with better records !!!!!!!
Just an update. Chuck Upton resigned, effective, Sat. 4/28.
It seems that his old employer, Whitney Texas, wanted him back
real badly. Made him an offer he could'nt refuse. To bad.
so does that mean we are back to the old chief ???? too bad if that's the case.
You people are going to have real problems if you let the city council disband the police department. Kaufman County is gonna charge over $100,000 dollars to do less than 19 hours of patrol in the city a week. Your City Council mainly Paul Norman Is a Joke. Betsy doen't know her ass from a whole in the ground. Ive never seen a bigger digrace for a city than you have now. The citizens of Combine should be more involved before the council really gets the city in trouble with its blaten disregaurd for the law.
I beg to differ,anonymous. Paul Norman shows more intelligence and common sense than most highly educated and socially uplifted people I know. I have known the Norman family for about 22 years and hold his family in the highest regard. He is honest , generous, and non condescending. Jane, his wife, has done more for others than Carter did for those little liver pills. Do you know what I most like about this current council? This council is about COMBINE, not about SELF PROMOTION.
And we can tell your level of intelligence- you misspelled "doesn't", "hole", "disgrace","blatant", and "disregard", but you surely know how to spell"ass"!

Yet again. Another resignation within the Combine Police Department. This says a lot about our City Leaders.
